DID YOU KNOW? The benchmark 30-year mortgage rate fell to 4.75%, down from last week’s 4.83%, according to a weekly survey of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders. The average rate for 15-year fixed mortgages also fell 8 basis points to 4.13%, while the average 5/1 adjustable mortgage rate dropped 4 basis points to 4.31%. The average30-year fixed mortgage rate hasn’t been this low since Sept. 5, when the average was 4.71%. Mortgage rates may continue their descent in the coming days. Long-term Treasury yields — which mortgage rates follow — tumbled after Wednesday's rate hike. After the Fed’s announcement, the 10-year Treasury yield sank 6 basis points to 2.75%. (Bankrate)
